Meet Our Team

Eileen is a licensed insolvency practitioner with over 35 years’ experience of all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency. Her early career was spent at Ernst & Young (EY) and she passed her JIE license exams in that time. Eileen has held a non-appointment taking licence since 1996.

Since 1999 Eileen has been providing bespoke support services to the insolvency and business community, including back office and technical support, compliance reviews and extensive training programmes. She brings phenomenal practical, technical and policy experience to the role. She is recognised for her thought leadership in the profession, and for spotting any opportunity that change presents.

Eileen specialises in complex issues and combines detailed knowledge of the law with a pragmatic approach to get proven results. She excels in compliance and technical advice. In the words of a peer, “what she doesn’t know about insolvency isn’t worth knowing”.

Eileen chairs the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA) Standards, Ethics & Regulatory Liaison Committee (SERL) and is a corresponding member of the Joint Insolvency Committee, responsible for standard setting across the UK’s insolvency profession. Eileen sits on the IPA’s Anti Money Laundering Committee and is a member of the IPA Board. She represented Scotland on R3’s National Council for six years and continues to provide valuable input into government consultations and SIPs as a member of the R3 Scottish Technical Committee. Her expertise is regularly called upon to provide technical solutions to insolvency practitioners.

In what little spare time she has, Eileen reads, socialises, travels and walks the dog.

Kim Guthrie

Administrator

Kim is an Administrator with Insolvency Support Services. Her role includes handling client enquiries, liaising with clients, dealing with training course bookings, making arrangements for the delivery of courses, and keeping the firm’s client database up to date.

A highly experienced and skilled business administration professional, Kim has enjoyed a very varied career. Her most recent experience includes 11 years in client-facing customer service with a leading house builder and eight within a Big 4 accountancy firm’s restructuring practice. In the latter role she gained experience in both personal and corporate insolvency and held Personal Insolvency Team Leader and Case Closure Team Leader positions. Previously, she undertook a diverse range of management roles, including operations, human resources, purchasing and logistics, working with companies in the oil and gas, chemicals, and office supplies sectors. In addition to the UK, she has lived and worked in Belgium and France, and studied while living in Saudi Arabia.

Having originally read law at the University of Aberdeen, Kim has also obtained several ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) accountancy qualifications as well as the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency.

On the personal front, Kim spends as much time with her children as practicality allows, given that one lives in the Caribbean and the other in the Middle East. A bridge nerd (the card game, not the structure…), a perpetual beginner at golf, and a companion to her dog and daughter’s cat, she loves watching sport and hugely enjoys meeting up with friends and family.
